iPhone As Medical Tricorder
OK, so there’s an iPhone app that can measure your heart rate and your breathing rate just by looking at you with the iPhone camera. Is it the future already?
By the sounds of it, it monitors the imperceptible changes in the colour of the skin on your face as your blood pulses through it as well as monitoring the movement of your shoulders as you breathe to come out with your BPM and breathing rate, and shows where they lie against averages.
And this isn’t some dick-about “x-ray hand scanner” fake tat app, this is a proper app, by Philips. And it costs 69p. And it’s on a phone.
I know I’m getting old these days because technology now has the power to astound me, which it never did.
