#BEDM Day 27: Letter From The Editor
A letter to your readers
Dear Sir or Madam,
I write to you today to thank you for wading through the sleet of piffle I have been expectorating for the last 27 days. It has been genuinely pleasing to write and to see the pageviews that mean other people are reading, and quite regularly, it seems. It will all be over soon, however. Or so you might think…
The truth is, I have enjoyed myself tremendously. Other bloggers in this little circle may be creaking under the weight of blogging while simultaneously prosecuting a life, but happily I have no such superfluous burden and that, coupled with the fact that I work best when given a task and a direction, means I have loved almost every minute of this little project. I’m still going strong on day 27, none of my blogs have been scheduled (in the words of the thankfully one-and-only Bill O’Reilly “Fuck it! We’ll do it live!) and only 1 of my blogs missed its assigned slot due to me getting arseholed and losing the ability to write.
All this is by way of saying that I am going to continue blogging regularly for as long as I am able. The inestimable Mr. Parkes (who I keep having to remind myself is not Greek as every time I type his website hellonic.co.uk I see “hellenic” and think “ooh, Greece”) has had a grand idea, perhaps for July, that we set a challenge to write 200 words of fiction about some random character in the street every day which I absolutely will be doing, whether he thinks better of it or not. Meanwhile, I will be setting myself a challenge for June. I don’t know what that will look like yet. I may set another 30 subjects to go at, and see if I can manage. So add me to your reading list, if you’ve liked what you’ve seen; I’m just getting started and I have many, many words yet to disgorge…
Any road, the point of this missive is that there will be blog posts aplenty from me in the near future. Blogging this much and enjoying it this much has even convinced me to back a Kickstarter project (with my actual money) that promises to revolutionise blogging for normal people who want a gorgeous blog but who just want to write. ‘Til next my words slide into your brain (which will be tomorrow). If you have been, thank you!
